My Ecoturism Experience in India

I went to India to help building houses for homeless people for 2 weeks last winter.
When I went there, I must have lived like local people....
There is no clean water, there is no hot water, we can't use light enough, we don't have water toilet, we have to eat the meal that cooked by local people, and we lived in the house that we already built by ourselves...
Is it ecoturism??
I was surprised because there were many insects in the house...
I didn't wanna believe that we have to live there for 2 weeks...
However, I could learn many things from that experiense. The life of poor people, how difference between their life and our life...
I think ecoturism can help us to learn important things such as environment, different culture and so on.

  3. What was the purpose of your trip to India? Your trip sounds more like social work. India is the country with more poverty in the world. Definitely, we can learn how these people survive and do something to make the difference.

    1. I went to India with my volunteer member. We had to do every thing by ourself. Purpose was building houses and knowing Indian culture. I could learn many things.

  4. It sounds like a kind of hybrid between volunteer work and eco-tourism. I'm sure it was an amazing and difficult experience. Good for you.
